Digital Signage Network Configuration Form

The purpose of this worksheet is to gather the information we require to configure your media players to operate on your network. There is also some additional information that will help your IT administrator configure your network to enable all the options you require for your messaging system. This form should be completely filled out 2 weeks prior to the installation date to ensure that the system can be fully tested at the time of installation.

The players should be in their own "Group" if you want them to display different content. The players can be in the same group if they will always display the same content. 

We recommend setting up the players with DHCP, but if you prefer, you can give it a specific IP address.

Ports that need to be opened for BrightSign or BrightAuthor:

• • BrightAuthor communicates with the BrightSign player using HTTP port 8080
  • The Bonjour protocol is used for discovery on TCP port 5354 and UDP port 5353
  • Bonjour is not used when you add the unit manually using its IP address
  • Note: Port 8008 is used for the variables page.

• Device must have access to the internet
• Outbound communication on ports 80/443
• By default, the player will synchronize with pool.ntp.org using the NTP protocol over UDP port 123
